Créée en 1825 par Georges Durand et son fils Jacques, la verrerie Cristal d’Arques fait figure de pionnière en s’équipant dès 1930 du premier four à bassin, des premières presses puis en important des Etas Unis les premières machines à souffler le verre. Naissance de Luminarc en 1948 puis de la marque Cristal d’Arques en 1960, qui permet, en automatisant la production, de démocratiser le cristal.
