Tapio Veli Ilmari Wirkkala est né le 2 juin 1915 à Hanko et est mort le 19 mai 1985 à Helsinki. A la fois, souffleur de verre, designer et sculpteur, cet artiste finlandais et une figure majeure du design de l’après-guerre.
