Né en 1913, l’artiste meurt à 64 ans en 1978. Pierre Robert Lucas a étudié à l’Ecole Supérieur des Beaux-Arts. L’oeuvre « Le repos » pour laquelle il a reçu le prix de Rome de peinture en 1937 est exposée au Musée de l’école nationale des Beaux Arts de Paris.
